Cirque du Soleil’s 25th anniversary revival of its iconic production “Alegría” will dazzle fans under the Big Top next to Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens during a five-week run beginning Dec. 20.
Tickets will start at $44 and are on sale now at: https://www.vipticketorders.com/performers/cirque-du-soleil-alegria.
“Alegría,” taking its name from the Spanish word for “joy,” is the production that helped establish the Cirque du Soleil’s now-global reputation for elaborate costumes, daring choreography and gravity-defying clowns and acrobats.
The company says it will revisit the production “through today’s lens — including new costumes and set design, a renewed acrobatic vocabulary, and new musical arrangements.”
The original “Alegría” premièred under the Big Top in Montreal in 1994 and it went on to tour the world under tents and in arenas through 2013. “Alegría" has been performed 6,600 times and was seen by more than 14 million people in 255 cities in 40 countries around the globe.
The soundtrack album is Cirque du Soleil’s best selling album of all time and the title song was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1995.
Performances of “Alegría” in Miami will continue through Jan. 26, 2020.
